Henry Haro- November 11, 2012

Henry Haro

Excerpt from November 11, 2012

In my experience unoccupied time is wasted time because there is a lack of discipline that accompanies unoccupied time.  With discipline there is direction and purpose, plus its time well occupied.  There’s an old saying within the prison community: “Do time, don’t let time do you.”  It doesn’t matter that you’re deprived of physical freedom… your freedom to pursue self-growth and vast knowledge comes down to your will to do so.  Your knowledge, insight and convictions are developed and strengthened by determination and appreciation for your own potential.

Critical thinking requires purpose to place emphasis and focus on the item of contemplation and analysis- you cannot define or interpret something when lacking the will to do so.
